The doubleheaders on April 9th and 10th both start at noon. The Lions continue PCSC play at home, hosting a pair of doubleheaders against Saint Mary's College. She had a double, an RBI, and a run scored in her first career start at third base. She finished the weekend by going 2-for-3 against the #1 team in the nation, California. She entered the game as a defensive replacement against the #3 Texas Longhorns, but recorded a hit in her only at-bat of the game. Against Northwestern she was 1-for-3 with a stolen base, a run scored and a sacrifice bunt. She went 1-for-4 against the Irish, but hit a two-run home run and drove in another run to help LMU record a 7-0 win. After appearing as a pinch runner and defensive replacement in the first game, Pineda made the most of her first career start against Notre Dame. 455 in the tournament with a two-run home run and a double. Sophomore Margo Pineda was honored as the PCSC Player of the Week on Feb. She allowed just two runs on the week in an extra inning game against Cal Poly after pitching seven scoreless innings. Pagano was spectacular in the circle, going the distance in all three starts, and recording two shutouts. She had hits in all but one game on the week. LMU swept the PCSC weekly awards on March 9th, as Danielle Kaminaka won the Player of the Week honor and freshman Tiffany Pagano was named the Pitcher of the Week. She has recorded hits in 19 of her 27 starts, and is tied for second on the team with five home runs. Despite being the leadoff batter, she is third on the team in RBI with 18. She leads the team with nine multi-hit games, and is third with a. Lisa Abbott is a four year starter for LMU, and continues to be one of LMU's most consistent offensive threats. Against Eastern Illinois, she hit two home runs. She recorded seven multi-hit games, and four multi-RBI games. 353 with six home runs, four doubles, and an. Between March 5th and March 23rd, the freshman hit. Tracy Cook was LMU's biggest power threat for a 18 day span in March. Her 125 runs scored is currently third, and by the end of the season she should be in the top five for games played, at-bats and hits as well. She needs just four more doubles and 11 more walks to become the career leader in those categories. She sits in second place in both the doubles and walks list. Additionally, she has become LMU's career RBI leader with 129.
Entering the season, she sat as LMU's career home run leader, and has added five more for a total of 37 in 3+ years. The win was Pagano's fourth shutout of the season and her ninth complete game.ĭanielle Kaminaka entered the 2005 season in the top five of several LMU career lists, and has continued to climb as the season rolls on. She allowed a walk, and the LMU defense made one error. Pagano faced just two batters over the minimum. It was LMU's first no-hitter since when Sami Strinz pitched a 1-0 no hitter against Portland State. Tiffany Pagano threw her first career no-hitter in LMU's 1-0 win over UC Santa Barbara on March 23rd. She also recorded a win and a save in the doubleheader against Ohio State.

LMU has lost to just four teams that have not appeared in this season's top-25 rankings. LMU recorded an impressive 4-1 win over then-#24 Arizona State on March 14th for its first win over a ranked opponent this season. The Lions have played their toughest non-conference schedule in school history, and have come out of it with an impressive 17-11 record. The Buckeyes had won 11 of their last 12 games before being swept by LMU. Tiffany Pagano threw her first no-hitter to defeat the Gauchos, while Kayla Meeks went 1-1 with a save in three games.
The Lions have won eight of their last ten games, and went 3-1 last week with a split against UC Santa Barbara and a sweep of Ohio State. LMU will host Portland State in a pair of doubleheaders this weekend to start its PCSC schedule. The Lions, winners of eight of their last 10 games, play a doubleheader with UC Riverside as a final tune-up for conference play.
